The tickets are on sale, the sponsors are clamouring at the door, and the speakers are lining-up, but before we run ahead we want to know what you want.
We want you to speak!
We are announcing an open call for Magento papers.
With so many, very talented and knowledgeable Magento developers out there, we know that some of you must have a lot to offer to the community. Whether you are a seasoned, experienced speaker or this is your first time, we want you to suggest your ideas for a Magento-centric talk. Don’t worry if it is your first time on stage, we’re all very nice, we don’t bite.
We all know that Magento is a vastly encompassing platform. With not only an innumerable number of modules and integrations available, but also different approaches to design, hosting, caching, eCommerce, innovation, and more – talks can and will vary immensely. With so many specialist areas of Magento we know that we won’t be able to cover everything in a day, so, if you have a great idea and really want to share it with your peers, please get in touch!
For inspiration you can watch the videos from last year to get you started. You could cruise the web for the top queries on Magento or jot down that idea that everyone in the office praised you for. As another starting point we have also had some suggestions of topics to be covered this year including:
- Technical SEO
- Front-end speed optimisation
- Module development in #Magento2
- Theming in 1.9+
The successful Magento paper(s) will be called in to stand and speak in one of the Lightning Talk (5-10 minutes per talk) slots or perhaps even in a full-length talk (30-45 minutes) should the content be too compelling to cut short. We’re also keen to hear from people who have got particular Magento bug fixes that might save all of the Mage Titans.
How Do You Do This?
Now we know that you’re excited. Simply pull your Magento papers idea into a paragraph* accompanied by a little bio** and send it over to [email protected] with the title ‘Mage Titans’ Call For Papers’. We probably won’t be able to get straight back to you but we will definitely keep you updated over here and on Twitter.
* well, a little more, especially for something unchartered. Around 200-300 words for the talk description / focus.
** a few words on who you are, your experience, why you love Magento perhaps? 150 words maximum for the bio.
Deadline is 23:59 on the 31st of July 2015
