Fabian specializes in Magento development since 2011 and since then has worked as freelance consultant and as head of development at the agency code4business. Coming from a software engineering background and several years of web development experience, he embraced test driven development from the beginning and is now looking forward to the new era of Magento 2.
Today Fabian is responsible for backend development, conception and devops work at integer_net, a small company of Magento experts in Aachen, Germany. Besides client projects he also works on commercial and open source extensions, now with the focus on migration to Magento 2.
We asked Fabian a few short questions –
What are you most proud of?
My kids š As a developer: Continuous self-improvement. I am proud not to be proud of yesterdays code today.
Who do you most admire in your career?
One of the most inspiring people I met in the Magento world is Vinai Kopp, earlier in his role as Magento guru, recently again because he encouraged me to think out of the box, and to create a new modern style of Magento module development. A great person and great teacher.
Why did you want to get involved in Mage Titans UK 2016?
Ever since I saw the announcement of the first Mage Titans and later watched the videos, I knew this was a great conference that I have to attend at some time. I liked the focus on high quality developer topics and the line up of well known names in the Magento community. Now being on the list by myself is a great honor and Iām looking forward to share my experiences there.
Many thanks to Fabian for stopping to answer these questions, we are really excited.
