I will describe the architecture and all the workflow around Multi-Source Inventory (MSI) https://github.com/magento-engcom/msi/projects.
It’s a big pilot project initiated by Magento Commerce and open for Community Participation and Contribution. Anybody from Community could join the project and share your vision, ideas, and left your own footprint in Magento history.

I have been working for Magento for last 6 years. I designed such functionality as Magento 2 Search and Async operations (for EE), Catalog Inventory. Also I’ve been involved into many general stuff routines as Magento 2 Service Contracts and performance optimizations on different levels. Currently I work in Community Engineering team and consider this as a great opportunity which will bring Magento onto another level. Because if you want to be an Open Source you have to keep “the door open” for Community’s contributions and ideas. I lead Multi-Source Inventory (MSI) project, which suppose to introduce Multi Stock functionality into the M2 platform. This big and very important core functionality is being developed and designed in a community-driven way. Which is a unique experience for all the participants and Magento itself.
